Catfish Rodeo

Objective
To involve kids who may or may
not have an opportunity to enjoy a full day of fishing, with the possibility to
earn the bragging rights of the best catfish cowboy or cowgirl. All fish that are caught and kept during the
rodeo will be cleaned and donated to the local food banks. The best catfish cowboy and cowgirls will be
determined by the team with the four largest catfish by weight. A biggest catfish award will be awarded along
with an award for the most catfish caught by one team.
Teams
A team will consist of 4 people, with two
being adults and two being kids between the preferred age of 8 to 15.
Rules
1.
Any legal way of fishing will be allowed, except trot lines.
2.
All team members must be present for team introductions / rules and
weigh-in.
3.
You will be docked one pound of total weight for every minute you are
late for weigh-in.
4.
All public waters will be legal to fish for this rodeo.
5.
All team members will be responsible for cleaning their fish at the
conclusion of the rodeo.
6.
It’s each teams duty to know all state boating
and fishing regulations
7.
Honesty, safety, and ethics are a must at all times.
8.
You may release any fish caught just be sure to keep a tally of your
catch for the day.
